Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a Technical Training Instructor to help train, develop, and mentor a diverse and growing team of EV/AV technicians across the US. The ideal candidate is an experienced technician with a passion for teaching, leadership, and learning, who wants to continue to develop their own skills in a dynamic and cutting-edge industry. In this position you’ll work with internal and external partners to become a subject matter expert on the Autonomous Vehicle, and then work to create content, develop training curriculum, and host on-going training classes for new and existing technical and management staff. Compensation: Competitive Pay - Paid weekly, every Friday! Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000 base depending on experience.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Create learning curriculum which focuses on skills development, and supports team members learning and retention of technical knowledge
- Coach and mentor technicians to enhance core capabilities and ensure continuous process improvement. Work with field teams to identify knowledge gaps and create plans for remediation in conjunction with management teams
- Provide ongoing training and development support to technical service team including management. Lead training classes for new hires as well as on-going training for existing staff
- Partner with leadership to identify training and development needs amongst the team, develop learning plans to ensure technical teams can meet or exceed associated business metrics.
- Develop processes and procedures for training, and assist with managing programs for growing technical training department
- Maintain expert knowledge of the methods, techniques, parts, tools, and materials used in the maintenance and repair of AV/EV vehicles.
- Develop and deliver technical training solutions equipping service employees to perform roles safely and to Amerit Fleet EH&S standards.
- Work in close consultation with support teams (Operations, EHS, engineering, Field Engineering) to create a consistent flow of training content as new procedures and updates are released
- Develop product specific training to technicians on electric vehicles equipped with complex automotive/electromechanical systems (powertrain, passive restraint system, steering/suspension/brakes, thermal management, high voltage DC systems).
What You Must Have
- Strong automotive system repair knowledge and training experience. Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and software engineering components and an understanding of how they interact. Experience diagnosing and performing repairs on electric and/or hybrid vehicles, with the ability to read, interpret, and explain mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
- 8+ years' experience working on cars (brakes, advanced suspension, alignment, electrical repair and diagnosis, software/firmware updates, diagnose nuanced mechanical, electrical, and A/C systems. Complex HW retrofits and AV HW replacement, diagnostic on nuanced AV and EV systems, able to diagnose highly complex integrated systems (HW/SW) issues)
- Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, automotive shop equipment (e.g., Impact guns, air tools, automotive lifts, floor jacks, etc.)
- Tech savvy, strong aptitude to learn new technology, able to expertly use a full suite of office and learning technologies
- Proactive, flexible, confident, professional, and self-directed in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated confidence and professionalism in working in a customer-facing role. Ability to collaborate and serve as a partner/consultant to leadership and staff.
- Ability to anticipate future setbacks to mitigate operational progress and growth, lead complex problem-solving activities and initiatives
- Ability to perform regular physical work including, but not limited to, stooping, lifting, and moving up to 50 pounds.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
Bonus if you have
- Degree from a University, Certificate program in Automotive Technology
- ASE certifications
- Experience with sensors, calibration, and/or the autonomous automotive field
- Dealership training and automotive experience
- Experience with Linux, Java, Python, C++, Jira, Confluence, G-Suite, and Slack
- Experience with environmental and safety requirements a plus.

Working Conditions
- Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job.
- Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes and noise.
- Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
- Ability to move and position heavy objects
- Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and crawl to repair vehicles
- Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
